Planets In Your Hand – Opening of the Exhibition

In 2017, the Science Communication Team, named Planets In Your Hand, was created in the Department of Physics of the University of Athens.

The team's educational proposal was funded by the European Europlanet Organization and refers to the construction of an exhibition, including planetary surface models. The aim of the program is to highlight the different conditions that prevail in every planet of our Solar System.

The Planets In Your Hand exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to see, learn and understand through the touch and vision the specificities of each planet. At the same time, it contributes to the dissemination of the scientific knowledge we currently have around the field of global exploration, in schools and general public, with particular emphasis on the visually impaired people. The Planets In Your Hand Team of the Physics Department NKUA organizes an event on the occasion of the first complete presentation of the exhibition.

The event will take place οn Sunday 31 March 2019
in the Physics Department of NKUA from 17.00 to 22.00.

The organized activities of the event, for that day, are addressed to people of all ages. They begin early in the evening with creative games, diy constructions, handcrafts and Solar observation, ending at night with one central talk and observation of the night sky. The Planets In Your Hand exhibition will be presented to the guests of the event throughout the above actions, in a specially designed room in the Physics Department.
